Tracking crypto news and signals
How I built a platform for myself that follows crypto news, measures the price reaction and sends a summary to Telegram every morning. What is inside, how the data is protected and what came out of the first days.
This article was written and was accurate on the date of publication. Since then there have been many more developments and new features: the portal keeps evolving. You may be reading about early versions of the project, and something may already be fixed. If you see an inconsistency or know better from your own experience – write to me: I am a beginner in crypto myself and will definitely take your advice into account.
In short: NewsVsPrice is several bots working together. One collects news, another merges reprints, a third takes prices from exchanges, a fourth measures how the price responded to each story, a fifth writes the recap, a sixth delivers it to Telegram and the site. I built all of this for myself, and then opened it for free.
Below – how and why. Without a recipe to repeat it in an evening, but with an honest story of what is inside.
Why I needed to track crypto news
I went into crypto several times, each time on luck – and each time I learned the important things too late. I told the PEPE and XRP stories in the guides to those coins.
At first I decided it was about luck. Then I understood: it was about not following the news. I did not want to read a pile of Telegram channels and spam, so I made myself a newsletter for the coins I was interested in. And then my habit as a marketer and developer kicked in: if a bot is reading the news anyway, let it also count how the price reacts to it. And let it collect this database. And since the tool works, why not give it to people.
13 years in advertising taught me one thing: a number matters more than a feeling. "It seems the story moved the price" is not an argument. The argument is how many percent the coin moved in the hour after the story, with the move of the whole market taken out.
Crypto monitoring and news alerts: what the bot collects
Crypto monitoring starts with sources. I split them into levels, because not all news is equal:
- Official – blogs, releases and accounts of the projects themselves, exchange announcements of listings and delistings, regulator press releases.
- Major media – specialized outlets like CoinDesk, The Block, Cointelegraph, Decrypt and large news Telegram channels, including Russian-language ones.
- X – posts by founders and official project accounts, as well as well-known news aggregators.
- Video – large crypto YouTube channels.
- Mass – Google News and Bing News for each coin.
Each coin has its own set of official sources. For Solana these are developer blogs and network software releases, for Toncoin – official Telegram channels and Pavel Durov's channel, and PEPE has no official feeds at all, so the main things there are X and the price move. I keep and expand the full register of sources myself.
Not everything worked out. Reddit, for example, would not give data without a separate approval, so I removed it. A couple of paid news aggregators cost from $199 a month – that is not for a free project. I work with what is open and honestly available.
How the bot merges crypto news into stories
One story is often published by ten outlets in a row, each with its own headline. If you show them all, the feed turns into noise. That is why the bot merges reprints into one story: one line, all links inside, the number of outlets next to it. The number of outlets next to a story shows how loud it is.
I do not describe in detail exactly how the bot understands that two publications are about the same thing. I will only say that it is not manual work and not AI: it is a rule I tuned on real news from the first days.
Crypto signals: what the bot actually tracks
The main thing first, to avoid confusion. When people search for "crypto signals" or "crypto signals Telegram", they usually want a tip: when to buy, when to sell. There are no such tips here, and there will not be. The bot never trades and does not advise anything.
Tracking signals, as I understand it, is something else. A market signal is an event worth noticing:
- Important news. An official project announcement, a regulator decision, a listing or delisting, an exchange hack.
- A spike or a drop. An hour when a coin went up or down much more than it usually moves. The bot marks such an hour and shows which news came out three hours before it and three hours after.
- A loud topic. A story picked up by several major outlets at once.
What to do with it is up to you. The service's job is for you to learn about an event in time and see the numbers, not for someone to decide for you.
How to tell news from a market move
This is the most important part, and here I hide nothing: the methodology is fully open. For most of the day coins move after bitcoin. If bitcoin fell 2%, almost all coins will go down too, and the news has nothing to do with it.
So the bot counts a coin's "own move": bitcoin's move is taken out of the coin's change, adjusted for how strongly the coin usually follows it. The reaction to a story is measured after 15 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours and 24 hours. Prices come from the KuCoin and Gate exchanges in 15-minute steps. The formulas and thresholds are in the methodology.
And one caveat I repeat in every text: timing alone does not prove cause. Hence the wording across the whole site – "matched", not "because of".
AI crypto analysis: what the neural network does and what the code does
AI crypto analysis sounds grand, so I will say exactly where the neural network works and where it does not.
- The neural network does: retells the news in simple words, sets the event type (regulation, listing, hack, network update and so on), writes the text of the morning recap and gives a short rating: plus, minus or mixed for the coin.
- The code does: collects news, merges it, takes prices, counts the reaction and spikes. All numbers are counted by code, not by the AI.
- Checking: before publication the code checks every number and ticker in the neural network's text against the calculation. If they do not match, the recap comes out without the AI text, only with numbers.
It runs on the Claude model. The neural network for crypto market analysis here is a helper that writes in clear language, not an oracle. Its ratings are published as they are, together with honest statistics: how often they come true. At the start – in about half of the cases, like a tossed coin. I think it is useful for a beginner to see this.
A crypto bot on Telegram
I needed the day's result to come where I already am every day – to Telegram. That is why the service has a bot with folders. Each coin has its own folder, plus general market news. You subscribe only to the coins you need and choose a level: all news, only official news or only the day's result.
Every morning the bot publishes the result of the past day for each coin: the price, the reaction, the top news and a button to the full day. The same data is on the site, on the day page. The crypto bot on Telegram and the site feed from one database, so the numbers are the same everywhere.
How the data is protected
Since I use this tool myself, I treat the data as working data.
- Access keys are not in the code. Passwords to services and tokens are stored separately and do not get into public access.
- The database is copied to me. Backups of the database go to my computer and are kept for 30 days. All project materials are with me, in folders.
- The site only reads. The site gets ready data from the bot by a private key and cannot change anything in the database.
- Minimum about people. About subscribers the bot stores only the Telegram user number, the date, which link the person came by, and the subscription level. No email, no phone.
- No workarounds. The bot reads only open sources and does not bypass site protection. If a source closes, I remove it instead of trying to break through.
What came out of the first days
Data has been collected since October 29, 2026, and the official launch was November 2. In the first days the bot learned to merge reprints, count the reaction for six coins, mark spikes and drops and build a separate market news feed: regulators, the Fed, exchange failures.
Since November 1, 2026, the server has been on a paid plan, and the bot collects news every 30 minutes: important coin news goes straight to their topics in Telegram, and general market news goes to the live feed on the site. There are honest limits too. The database is young, so the statistics by source and news type are still modest: their reliability grows every day.
What comes next
The plans include more coins, futures and blockchain data, and large whale transfers. More about what exactly is tracked and how the database will grow is in the article Crypto statistics: what NewsVsPrice tracks at the first launch.
If you are a developer or just curious how it works, or want the bot to follow your coin – message me on Telegram. Every morning the bot sends a breakdown for each coin to Telegram – it is free and without ads.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a crypto news service or trading signals?
A crypto news service with a measured price reaction. There are no "buy or sell" trading tips: the bot tracks important news, price spikes and drops, and the decision is yours.
How does the bot tell a reaction to news from a market move?
Bitcoin's move is taken out of the coin's change, adjusted for how strongly the coin usually follows it. What is left is the coin's own move.
What does the AI do in crypto analysis?
It retells the news, sets the event type and writes the recap text. All numbers are counted by code, which checks them against the AI text before publication.
How often is the news updated?
The bot collects news every 30 minutes, and important coin news goes to Telegram right away. The daily result comes out every morning.
What data about subscribers does the bot store?
Only the Telegram user number, the date, which link the person came by, and the subscription level. The bot does not collect email or phone numbers.
Can I add my own coin?
