The main reason for the drop was a large outflow: according to media reports, an unknown holder sold about $149 million worth of SOL by moving it to exchanges, which usually weighs on the price. Another significant event was a hack with about $106 million stolen from exchanges, but its only reported effect is the outflow and the theft, so the day's result looks negative.
Each line is one story of the day, left to right in time. The line’s height shows how far the coin’s price moved in the 4 hours after the story, net of the market: up – a rise, down – a fall. A lime band marks an hour with a sharp spike or drop.
Top stories
Solana's top stories are ranked like this: official items first (network status, Agave and Firedancer releases, protocol proposals), then the stories most outlets ran, then those with the biggest own SOL reaction – measured net of bitcoin with a factor of about 1.25.
+15 min · +1 h · +4 h · +24 h – how far the coin’s price moved this long after the story was published, net of the whole market, in percentage points. Green – up, red – down, “later” – the window has not closed yet.
Why the Token Supercycle Needs a Market That Never Closes
A video from the official Solana channel titled that a token supercycle needs a market that never stops. The article text is not available, so specific facts, figures and plans are unknown. Judging by the title, it is about round-the-clock trading, but a title alone does not say what exactly will be done for SOL.
Alpenglow just cut Solana's finality to 150ms | Anza CEO explains why that matters for AI agents
The video title says the Alpenglow upgrade cut the Solana network's finality time to 150 milliseconds. Finality is the moment a transaction becomes irreversible. The head of Anza explains why this matters for AI agents that need fast settlement.

Binance hackers begin swapping stolen Solana tokens for Bitcoin: Chainalysis
According to Chainalysis, the hackers who stole funds from Binance began swapping stolen Solana tokens for Bitcoin. The Gate exchange froze two linked accounts, and US investigators urged platforms to block transfers linked to the $6.3 billion theft. The story concerns the theft, not an outage or vulnerability in the Solana network itself.

Price spikes and drops
A sharp Solana move is an hour when SOL without the market moved clearly more than usual. Next to it – what came out three hours before the move and three hours after. If before the move there is only general market news, it was a market day, not a Solana day.

What happened to Solana: how to read the daily result
This page holds Solana's last full UTC day and refreshes every morning; earlier days move to the archive on the Solana page. Two numbers tell the story: the SOL price change and its own move. SOL tends to amplify bitcoin, so a 2% Solana drop when bitcoin fell 1.6% is almost entirely the market.
An example from the bot's database. On October 30, 2026, Solana grew 0.72% while bitcoin fell 0.86% – an own move of +1.80 pp. The bot rated as weighty that day the story about the Hong Kong stablecoin HKDAP on Solana. On October 31 – the opposite: SOL −0.89% while bitcoin grew, an own move of −1.29 pp, and next to it a story about a $10.8 million outflow from Solana funds (source level – media, not official).
Why did Solana go up or drop? Four things to check
Network. Alpenglow was activated on October 21, 2026, and the market notices any failures in the first months. Funds. Flows into SOL funds show the interest of big money. FTX sales. Coins sold by the FTX exchange in 2024 unlock monthly until 2028. Conferences. On November 15–17, 2026 – Breakpoint in London; on such days there is a lot of news, and the bot shows which of it SOL responded to.
What happens to Solana on network upgrade days
Solana upgrades turn on by epochs – that is what the network calls periods of about two days. In the daily result, when an upgrade turns on or a new Agave or Firedancer client release comes out, such news goes first, as official. Separately the bot watches the network status page: a failure message is the weightiest news for SOL, and the price reaction to it is visible after 15 minutes. The last officially recognized network halt was on February 6, 2024, about 5 hours.
Timing is not proof
The AI writes the day's conclusion from the bot's data and can be wrong. We write "coincided with the news", not "dropped because of it". The current day is on the Solana price today page, the formulas are in the methodology.
